Thanks to your cooperation and participation, the Sumie workshop for the abroad students form Geneva, Switzerland and their host-families at Shinagawa city office was closed in success, with a total of 33 participants, ages are 16 to 70's. This workshop was organized as one of the international exchange program which presented by SIFA, Shinagwa-ku International Friendship Association. The class was taught in English and Japanese both, and in French occasionally(by an interpreter). Historical understanding of Sumie was also taught at the beginning of the session.

皆様のご協力とご参加のお陰様をもちまして、スイス・ジュネーヴ市からの留学生とそのホストファミリーの方々を含めた、

33名様に向けた墨絵ワークショップを開催させて頂き、無事に終了することが出来ました。16歳から70歳代の方々にご参加頂きました。

こちらのワークショップは、公益財団法人品川区国際友好協会様の、国際交流プログラムの一環として行われました。

授業は英語と日本語で進めさせて頂き、適宜フランス語の通訳の方にもご協力頂きました。

墨絵の歴史のご説明なども授業の冒頭でさせて頂きました。

3時間の授業でしたが、このようにして墨絵への理解と関心をもって頂いた事が、

これからの日々の中で、皆さんの新しい発見に繋がって行けばよいのではないかと思っております。

Thanks to your cooperation and participation, the second Sumie workshop at Hitotsubashi University was closed in success ,with a total of 8 participants.The workshop this time was taught in only English. We also learned historical understanding of Sumie at the beginning of the session.

For all attendances,this was the first experience to make ink by themselves and as well as holding Sumie brushes, however, they enjoyed and loved practicing Sumie's basic techniques in two hours and some of them were able to complete their artwork on paper canvas.

We practiced "the Bamboo".
